Yellow Jackets visit Hurricanes in ACC matchup
For football betting fans, the bad news is there’s only one NCAA College Football matchup on tonight. The good news is, it’s an ACC conference matchup between the No. 13 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and the 22nd-ranked Miami Hurricanes (7:30 pm ET, ESPN).
There’s been plenty of line movement for this Top-25 tilt, as the Hurricanes were listed as 4-point favorites on Monday, but heavy betting action on Miami bumped them all the way up to -5.5.
But as bettors began to take the Yellow Jackets, the line started to drop again and now sits back where it started, with Miami a 4-point home favorite in NCAA Football Odds at Legends. The over/under is 54.
Interestingly, ranking nine places ahead of Miami hasn’t gotten Georgia Tech much respect in this one. But the Hurricanes haven’t beaten the Jackets since 2004. Over the past four head-to-head, Georgia Tech has won and covered the spread – winning 14-10 and 17-14 at Miami in both road games they’ve played.
Both teams have faced bi battles early this season. Georgia Tech played a big game last Thursday against the Clemson Tigers, jumping out to an early lead before holding off the comeback and winning by a field goal. Miami put up 38 points in their week 1 match-up against Florida State, also fending off a late comeback attempt by the Seminoles.
One of the best rushing attacks in the country (GT has out-rushed their opponents by over 200 yards per game this season) will see if they can put up enough points to hang with a Miami team that passed for 386 yards in their opener. This ACC showdown should be a good one.
