Conference matchups dominate NCAA Football this week
The Ohio State Buckeyes face Big Ten rival Michigan Wolverines in their annual grudge match on Saturday (12 pm ET, ABC).
Despite having the Big 10 BCS birth wrapped up, the Buckeyes still want to beat the Wolverines, and embarrass them, I promise. This is a huge rivalry game, or at least it used to be, before Ohio State went and won 7 of the last 8, and 5 in a row against the falling Wolverines.
OSU has covered in 4 of the last 5. Three of the last four years have been decided by 11 points or less. Can Michigan do that again?
Ohio State Buckeyes is a 12.5-point favorite in NCAA Football Odds at Legends.
There’s also a big Pac-10 matchup with the California Golden Bears visiting the Stanford Cardinal, with the Cardinal 7-point favorites.
If the Cardinal win out, and Oregon loses one of their next two games against Arizona and Oregon State, the Cardinal will take the Rose Bowl bid from the Pac 10. A lot’s on the line! 71% of the public likes the home favorite. Stanford is 11-0 ATS in their last 11 home games, 9-3 ATS in their last 12 Pac-10 games. Stanford is undefeated at home. Cal’s first win against a team with a winning record came last week against Arizona.
Also in the Pac-10, the Oregon Ducks are 6-point favorites on the road against the Arizona Wildcats (8 pm ET, ABC).
Seventy-one per cent of the public like Oregon, and why not? Oregon is 8-2 and they control their own destiny for a Pac-10 crown and a Rose Bowl bout with Ohio State.
They also have one of the best offenses in College Football, and Arizona lost a big one to Cal last week. But don’t count out Arizona. They are 5-0 at home this season, including a win over Stanford. Arizona has won 2 of their last 3 against the Ducks, covering 3 of the last 4. This is the smallest spread in this match-up since 2001.
