NCAA Football: Week 13′s Big Games
Pittsburgh Panthers (-1) @ West Virginia Mountaineers (+1)
(Friday, 7 pm ET, ESPN2)
Everyone likes the Panthers in this one (67%), and that makes sense. Pittsburgh is 9-1 on the season, 6-3 ATS, and coming off a solid performance against the Fighting Irish. They’ve had two weeks to prepare for this game, but so has West Virginia. Pittsburgh has upset the Mountaineers each of the last two years, playing the spoiler role well. WVU is 7-3, 3-6 ATS, but lost by just 3 last time out against #5 Cincinnati.
Nevada Wolf Pack (+13.5) @ Boise State Broncos (-13.5)
(Friday, 10 pm ET, ESPN2)
Nevada is getting absolutely no credit for the way they’ve played down the stretch. After an 0-3 start, they’ve peeled off 8 straight wins, only once winning by less than 10 points, scoring 52+ five times, 60 or more 4 times. They haven’t played great teams, but they’ve hammered some teams Boise State has struggled with this season. They have a chance. This game has been close in back to back seasons.
Florida State Seminoles (+24) @ Florida Gators (-24)
(Saturday, 3:30 pm ET, CBS)
The Florida State Seminoles are looking for one of their biggest upset wins in school history when they visit the Florida Gators this Saturday. 62% of the public likes the underdog Seminoles. The Seminoles are huge dogs, but unlike a lot of teams, they have the athletes to play with the Gators. Are they as good? No. FSU is 6-5 on the season with some questionable losses. The Gators are undefeated. Florida has won each of the last 5, winning by at least 27 points 3 times. FSU scores 32 per game, allowing 30. If they can score like that, they might have a chance.
