NCAA Football Preview: Conference Championships

Here’s a look at Saturday’s NCAA Football Conference Championships, with NCAA Football Betting Odds highlighted.

Cincinnati Bearcats (-2) @ Pittsburgh Panthers (+2)

(12 pm ET, ABC)

The 5th ranked Cincinnati Bearcats, still undefeated and hoping something goes right so they can find themselves in a National Title game, have to get through #15 Pittsburgh first. This Big East Championship game should be a good one. Both teams are led by surprising star quarterbacks and a strong defense. 71% like Cincinnati to win on the road, the line has moved 3.5 points since Pitt opened as a 1.5-point favorite.

Florida Gators (-5.5) @ Alabama Crimson Tide (+5.5)

(4 pm ET, CBS)

What more can you say? This is actually what college football is all about. Forget that BCS business and the National Championship which only a few teams are actually eligible for, this is #1 and #2 for the SEC Title. The winner gets a guaranteed shot at a National Championship. Awesome. Last year, Florida came back to win this game in the 4th quarter. Alabama is 6-1-1 ATS in their last 8 vs. Florida. This might be the best match-up of the season.

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (0) @ Clemson Tigers (0)

(8 pm ET, ESPN)

The ACC Title game isn’t getting as much attention as the other Championship games, but that’s because both these teams lost to SEC rivals last weekend. But one week doesn’t make these two squads bad, and both can put up a highlight reel anytime they lace ‘em up. Jonathan Dwyer and C.J. Spiller are two of the best running backs in the Nation. The Jackets run as well as anyone while Clemson has some big time run stoppers. Should be a great game.

Texas Longhorns (-14.5) @ Nebraska Cornhuskers (+14.5)

(8: pm ET, ABC)

The Big 12 Championship game isn’t getting much attention either, but I think that’s because everybody is giving this game to Texas, putting them in the National Championship against the SEC Champ. Not so fast. The public loves Texas, but Nebraska is tougher than they think. The Cornhuskers would love to play the spoiler and get themselves to a BCS game. Texas has won 4 straight, but Nebraska has covered the last two.
