NBA Profile: Utah Jazz

The Utah Jazz have done much better than expected this NBA season.  In the month of January they played the best basketball in the league, and had the best record for the month.

At one point during that stretch they had a nine game win streak that involved a buzzer beater against the Cleveland Cavaliers by Sundiata Gaines, a D-League call up.

The Utah Jazz have mastered the ability to have team chemistry and to share the ball.  While they do have some superstars like Andrei Kirilenko, Carlos Boozer, and Deron Williams, they are all unselfish when it comes to offense.  Williams is the glue that holds the whole team together and constantly shows that he is one of the very best point guards in the entire league.

The Jazz currently hold a record of 41 wins and 22 losses,  and hold the number four spot in the West. They are shooting to move up to a possible number two in the Western Conference if they can beat out Denver and Dallas.

The West playoff hunt is full of some great teams, all of which are within a few games of each other.  The Jazz are a game and a half behind Denver for the number three spot, and only a game ahead of Phoenix.  The playoff seeds are up for grabs, and all the teams in the West are fighting for it.

If the Jazz can continue to win on the road and not lose games to some of the weaker teams like Sacramento and the Clippers, then they have a good shot at getting a good playoff berth and possibly going deep into the post season.

The Jazz are 1-point road underdogs in tonight’s tilt against the Milwaukee Bucks, according to NBA Odds at Legends.
