Hot Hoyas meet Bobcats in NCAA Tournament opener
The Ohio Bobcats take on the Georgetown Hoyas in a Midwest Region matchup in the opening round of the 2010 NCAA Tournament at the Dunkin Donuts Center on Thursday (7:25 pm ET, CBS).
The Hoyas are 13.5-point favorites in College Basketball Betting Odds at Legends sportbook.
Georgetown narrowly lost the Big East conference tournament title game by a score of 60-58 to the West Virginia Mountaineers on Saturday. The Hoyas cashed as 2.5-point underdogs and the score went under the total of 132.5.
Chris Wright had 20 points and dished out seven assists for Georgetown in the loss.
Ohio beat the Akron Zips 81-75 to win the MAC title on Saturday, as a 1-point road underdog.
Ohio was 21-14 SU and 18-12 ATS this season and Georgetown 23-10 SU and 17-12 ATS.
The Kansas Jayhawks, Duke Blue Devils, Kentucky Wildcats and Syracuse Orange are the No. 1 seeds in the four regions.
Syracuse (28-4), which the Hoyas beat in the quarterfinals of the Big East Tournament, will face America East champion Vermont Friday in Buffalo. The Orange are seeded No. 1 for the first time since 1980.
Kansas (32-2), the overall No. 1 seed for the tournament, faces Patriot League champion Lehigh in the first round of the Midwest region.
Duke (29-5) beat Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 65-61 on Sunday to win the ACC Tournament for a record 18th time, and the South region No. 1 seed will face the winner of the play-in game between Big South champion Winthrop and SWAC winner Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Tuesday.
Sec champ Kentucky (32-2) faces Atlantic Sun champion East Tennessee State on Thursday in New Orleans.
