Wisconsin Badgers still strong despite Big Ten tourney performance

Despite a disappointing Big Ten tournament, the Wisconsin Badgers have grabbed the No. 4 seed East region and will take on the Wofford Terries on Friday in Jacksonville (2:50 pm ET, CBS).

NCAA Tournament Odds at Legends have the Badgers as 10-point favorites.

The teams have met once before, back in 2007. The Badgers beat up the Terriers 70-43, covering as 26-point favorites.

Jon Leuer led the Badgers with 14 points and seven rebounds, but Wisconsin dropped its Big Ten quarterfinal matchup 58-54 against the Illinois Fighting Illini at the Conseco Fieldhouse on Friday.

Illinois cashed as 8-point underdogs and the score went under the 120-point total.

The Terriers, who were No. 1 in the South Division of the Southern Conference, won the conference title with a 56-51 win over Appalachian State on March 8.

Wofford was 26-8 straight up and 16-11-2 against the point spread this season. Wisconsin was 23-8 SU and 17-12 ATS.

Wofford is 5-0 SU in its last five games, and the total has gone under in 12 of Wofford’s last 18 games.

Wisconsin is 4-1 SU in its last five games and the total has gone under in 17 of Wisconsin’s last 22 games.
